Privacy Policy

Zonlo is built to be a private space. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app touches and what happens to it.

The short version

• Your audio never leaves your phone. Speech recognition runs on your device. We never receive, store, or hear a recording of your voice.
• Only your words, as text, are sent to our server to be checked.
• No ads. No tracking. We never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information

When you sign in, our authentication provider Clerk processes your email address (or your Apple/Google account identifier) to create and secure your account. We use it only to identify you and, if you write to us, to reply.

Practice transcripts

When you speak during a conversation, your iPhone transcribes your speech on-device. The resulting text is sent to our server over an encrypted connection so we can grade it and return feedback. To generate that feedback we pass the transcript text to Google's Gemini API. The transcript is the text of what you said and nothing else; the audio itself stays on your phone.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (for example, whether Pro is active), never your payment details.

What stays on your device

Your progress and stats, saved PDF reports, preferences, and reminder settings are stored locally on your iPhone. Practice reminders are local notifications scheduled by the app itself; nothing is sent to us.

What we don't do

• No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
• No tracking across apps or websites.
• No selling or sharing of personal data for marketing.
• No storing of your voice, ever.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Delete my account and data. This removes your account and wipes the app's local data. To request erasure of any remaining server-side records, email support@zonlo.app and we will complete it promptly.

Service providers

Zonlo relies on a small number of processors to run: Clerk (authentication), Apple and RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google Gemini (feedback on transcript text), and Amazon Web Services (hosting). Each receives only the minimum needed for its job.

Children

Zonlo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app.
